Overnight, the mother who lost her husband, and now her two sons, became a symbol of grief and of strength.
“In Miriam’s Song, Miriam Peretz gives expression to the unique courage of an exemplary mother, a woman of valor of the Jewish people. Miriam lost two of her sons, Uriel and Eliraz, in Israel’s wars. Yet she celebrates life every day, providing hope and fortitude to many in Israel and around the world. Miriam’s Song will inspire those who read it, as it has inspired me.” – Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel
“Miriam Ohayon Peretz is a symbol of resilience in Israel. Miriam’s Song is, indeed, a song. It’s a song sung to life. Miriam Peretz didn’t intend to be a public figure. Life and its losses thrust heroism upon her. Throughout the book, she retains the humility of her early childhood. There is much to learn from her quiet strength and dignity. Perhaps no lesson she transmits is more powerful than the reminder to appreciate the myriad blessings we each have, even when devastating losses knock us around.” – Rivkah Lambert Adler, JPOST
“Miriam’s Song is replete with courage, faith, and commitment, it is also about tragedy and sacrifice. It is a book to read to understand what it means to be a woman, a wife, a mother in Israel today.” – Sybil Kaplan, Vancouver Jewish Independent
