Isracandle

Goren Sarid finished his national army service in 2018 and rather than taking a break and traveling he channeled his creative energy into starting a boutique candle business in his hometown, Efrat.

The inspiration behind Goren’s unique candles were all the training exercises that he participated in during his service with the Nahal Brigade. Every maneuver was preceded by intense planning with the soldiers studying the terrain with the use of topographical maps.

Once he returned home he decided to take those maps and print them using a 3-D printer and he realized that seeing the terrain in that fashion was a powerful connector to the places he was looking at. He taught himself candle-making by watching tutorials and over time perfected his skills and IsraCandle was born!

He hopes that his candles will be a way for people to connect with the Holy Land and see it through his eyes. In addition to running his business, he is also attending the Technion working towards a degree in electrical engineering.
