Batya draws inspiration from the beauty of the Holy Land of Israel, and the flowers and fruits of the land frequently find their way into her creations. You pass dozens of orchards growing olive trees when you drive to her home in Samaria. You can watch the small fruit ripen under the hot Israeli sun as the seasons change. Batya created a beautiful small olive oil jug for our surprise packages, and we all fell in love with the charming design and were delighted to extend the collection!
Olives are an essential industry for Israel, and they are one of the seven species mentioned in the Bible. “A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey.” Deuteronomy 8:8
Batya’s Olive Collection is the perfect way to set your table and bring the spirit of the Holy Land to every meal. You can purchase each item from open-stock to create your collection to suit your family! (You can even mix and match with her Pomegranate Collection for a truly unique table!)
Each item in the collection is crafted by hand on Batya’s potter’s wheel in the heart of Jewish Samaria. Each bowl is made with love at each step of the process! Batya begins by shaping your bowls on her potter’s wheel; they are then fired for the first time. After the first firing, she decorates and glazes each bowl by hand and returns them to the kiln for the second firing!
Batya’s Olive Collection Bowls are ideally sized for serving soup, salad, or even to enjoy your breakfast cereal!
