Halva Kingdom has a long history in the holy city of Jerusalem. The business was established in the Old City of Jerusalem in 1947 by the Maman family.
The Maman family arrived in Israel from Morocco, ready to reestablish their family in their ancestral homeland. Sadly in 1948, after the War of Independence, the Jewish population was deported out of the Old City at gunpoint.
The Maman family regrouped and reestablished their business in the famous Jerusalem market, Shuk Mahnae Yehuda. There, Saba (grandpa) Maman taught his son the secrets of halva and tahini making he had learned in Morocco. The business is now run by Eli, the third generation from the Maman family to craft high-quality tahini and halva according to his saba’s recipes and traditions.
Halva Kingdom uses the highest quality pure sesame seeds to make their products. The seeds are roasted at high heat by hand to reveal an aromatic and rich flavor. Following roasting, they are ground using an old millstone press. Using this generations-old technique means that Eli and his team can obtain the highest nutritious values and achieve a silky smooth consistency to their tahini.
Halva Kingdom offers the Holy Land’s greatest variety and most beloved halva and tahini products.
