Batya’s home overlooks the valleys and hills of Samaria. When she and her husband first moved to their plot of land, it was barren, devoid of wildlife and plants; most noticeably, there was no birdsong. She and her husband set about to plant trees and water the land. In a short amount of time, life returned. Their fig and olive and pomegranate trees took root, and Batya was thrilled at the return of birds and the sound of birdsong.

Their efforts have been so successful that once again, Israeli wildflowers have started to bloom. Each spring, the flowers around her home and studio transform the land into a colorful carpet of petals and beauty.

One morning as Batya worked in her studio, she found the sight so enchanting and uplifting that she was inspired to create a unique collection of ceramics to celebrate the beauty of the Holy Land’s wildflowers!
