The priestly blessing called “Birkat Kohanim” in Hebrew is also called the threefold blessing. During the First and Second Temples, the blessing was recited twice a day by the priests. Today this beautiful blessing is traditionally said during the Musaf prayer after the Torah reading during holiday services.

The text comes directly from the Bible, Numbers 6:24-26

“The Lord bless you and protect you!

The Lord deal kindly and graciously with you!

The Lord bestow his favor upon you and grant you peace!”
